At a protest
yesterday
twist
a 
familiar
chant:
Say their name
one 
from
a poem
with plants
which continue to grow


Its hot 
the sun waits
Through 
grass thinking
waiting 
I dreamt 
I let 
myself 
imagine
every minute
the ways 
my words are
reaching
moving to reckon
I am asking 
I’m prepared
to be.


Power
I know
what pillars
quake and
fall


red concrete
petition
the guide notes

Now
the cost
to fight hate
Call places
sitting on the other
side
quiet


sketch
a light
reconcile 
softness 
collect
prisons

them
it's our

beckon
